This Spring and Summer, New Yorkers may suddenly find themselves face-to-face with SOCRATES. As he did in Athens 2,500 years ago, Socrates welcomes discussion of questions like: How should we live? Who is a true patriot? What makes a city great? Why be honest?
Socrates will appear (weather permitting) at such venues as:
** the steps of the New York Public Library at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street (in front of the giant statue of him adjacent to the main entrance),
** at Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens
** next to David's painting "The Death of Socrates" in the Metropolitan Museum of Art
** catching lunch at Socrates Restaurant on Hudson Street.
** and at other cunningly appropriate (or surprising) locations.
